(ĐN)- Dong Nai province is urging accelerated efforts to meet the 95% public investment disbursement goal.

As of March 20, only VND 883 billion (5.6% of the plan) had been disbursed—lower than the national average of 7.2%. The province currently ranks 20th from the bottom in terms of disbursement rate compared to other provinces and cities.

Key reasons include delays in project approval documentation, poor coordination between project owners and local authorities in land clearance, and slow contractor selection. Some major road projects, like Route 25B and 25C, have stalled due to unresolved land clearance and budget allocation issues.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Ho Van Ha, emphasized that the disbursement rate must reach at least 90% by November 30.
In addition, several construction contractors have been slow in implementation. The provincial project management boards have issued multiple warnings and penalties for delayed progress, especially for national key projects like the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway and Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City.

However, agencies are still seeking clearer guidelines on how to strictly penalize underperforming contractors to avoid delays and ensure efficient capital use.
