On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Nai Province, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang conveyed best wishes and presented flowers and gifts to Cambodian Consul General in HCM City Chan Sokrykan, and Cambodian and Laos students studying at colleges and universities across the province.
Speaking at the event, Cambodian Consul General in HCM City Chan Sokrykan expressed his thanks to local leaders and universities for their support to create favourable conditions for the Lao and Cambodian students so that they can have good results at university, helping build sound solidarity and friendship among the three nations.
Currently, there are some 52 Lao and Cambodian students studying at colleges and universities in Dong Nai.
Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang affirmed that the provincial leaders always pay attention to organising student exchange events, creating opportunities for students to better understand cultural tradition in each nation and the history of the friendship among the three countries.
On this occasion, participants participated in vibrant cultural activities including tying thread on guests’ wrists, the splashing of water, traditional dancing, folk games, and art performance, etc.
The Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay festivals fall on April 14 to 16, with several ritual ceremonies praying for good weather, an abundant harvest and a prosperous New Year.
