(ĐN) - On March 22, the 2025 National Petanque Championship took place in Dong Thap, concluding after 8 days of competition.

At the end of the tournament, Dong Nai's petanque athletes won 2 medals: 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal Among them, athlete Nguyen Cong Thai excelled in bringing Dong Nai a silver medal in men's individual technique, with the gold medal going to Le Hong Phuc (Nghe An). The remaining bronze medal was achieved by the duo Pham The Trung - Tran Van Cuong in men's doubles.
Meanwhile, the military team earned the most medals with 3 gold medals (women's singles, mixed doubles, men's trios), 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal. Tra Vinh secured 2 gold medals (men's doubles and women's doubles). Units that earned 1 gold medal include: Ba Ria - Vung Tau (men's singles), Nghe An (men's individual technique), the host Dong Thap (women's individual technique), Vinh Long (mixed doubles technique), and Hanoi (women's trios).

The 2025 National Petanque Championship was organized by the Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Education in collaboration with the Dong Thap Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, taking place from March 15 to 22, with 191 athletes from 17 provinces, cities, and sectors across the country. Athletes competed in 10 events: men's singles, women's singles, men's technique, women's technique, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, mixed double technique, men's trios, and women's trios.
According to the Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Education, the 2025 National Petanque Championship serves as a basis for assessing professionalism and selecting excellent athletes for the Vietnamese petanque team preparing for SEA Games 33 and international competitions.
