Dong Nai wins silver at National Marathon Championship 2025

(ĐN) - On March 30, the 66th National Marathon Championship of Tien Phong Newspaper in 2025, organized by the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, Tien Phong Newspaper, and the Vietnam Athletics Federation, was officially held in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province.

The event attracted over 7 thousand athletes (VĐV) from across the country to compete in professional and recreational categories. From 4 AM, professional and amateur athletes began competing for individual prizes in the distances of 21.1km, 42.195km for men and women in professional and amateur categories; 10km for professional men, youth men, and men and women in amateur categories; 5km for professional women, youth women, and men and women in amateur categories.  

At the end of the competition, Dong Nai athlete Luong Duc Phuoc finished second, after Do Quoc Luat in the men's professional 10km event, winning a silver medal in individual category. In addition to the personal medal, Luong Duc Phuoc along with Le Huu Loc and Nguyen Hoang Thinh helped Dong Nai secure a bronze medal in the men's team event. The gold medal  in this category went to the Military team and the silver was for Gia Lai. Meanwhile, Thai Binh won the women's team gold, Nam Dinh: silver, and Bac Giang: bronze. The Military team ranked first overall, Gia Lai came second, and Quang Tri was third.

The Tien Phong marathon started in 1958, and is one of the oldest sporting events in Vietnam, and currently is the National Marathon Championship.
