(DN) - On March 26, the Department of Health reported that the Ministry of Health has just supplied Dong Nai with over 2,200 doses of measles vaccine, including measles-only and measles-rubella vaccines.

This vaccine comes from support provided by the VNVC vaccination system.
After receiving the vaccine from the Ministry of Health, the Department of Health issued the plan number 1398 to implement the vaccination campaign against measles for the year 2025 in Dong Nai. The Department of Health requested all localities to launch the measles vaccination campaign at healthcare facilities, health stations, or vaccination points in schools and kindergartens immediately after receiving the vaccine, concluding no later than March 31, 2025.

In this campaign, the target group of children from 6 months to under 9 months is expected to include 520 children (including mobile children who have not been vaccinated with the measles-containing vaccine); 686 children aged 6-10 years who are currently present in the locality and have not received the full two doses of the measles-containing vaccine. Additionally, vaccination will be conducted for 823 children aged 1-5 years, with the vaccine for this group sourced from the Expanded Immunization Program.
The Department of Health urged localities to expedite the measles vaccination process, organize catch-up vaccinations for children of eligible age who have not been vaccinated, ensuring vaccination safety and effectiveness.

On March 26, a delegation from the Department of Health led by Deputy Director Luu Van Dung conducted on-site surveillance of the measles vaccination work in Trang Bom district and Bien Hoa city. Through the supervision, the delegation noticed that the healthcare staff were responsible in implementing the campaign; enhancing coordination efforts in propaganda to encourage parents to bring their children for vaccination against the disease.
