WWF International’s Chief Operating Officer visits Dong Nai

(ĐN)- On September 3, at Vinh Cuu relic and natural preservation area, Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot received a delegation of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) led by WWF International’s Chief Operating Officer Paul Steele.

At the working session, Director of Vinh Cuu relic and natural preservation area, Mr. Tran Van Mui, introduced the delegation to the activities of the preservation area. Accordingly, he expressed his hope that WWF will help Vinh Cuu to improve preservation area management,   preserve biological diversification, and protect the environment, etc.

Mr. Paul Steele said that before coming to Vietnam, he knew the country through cooperative programs between WWF and Vietnam. He is very interested in nature preservation projects in Dong Nai generally and Vinh Cuu particularly, therefore he will make efforts to develop the preservation area in the coming time. He added that the WWF will have surveys in Vinh Cuu nature preservation area to plan the proper preservation measures in the earliest time. According to WWF’s evaluation, Dong Nai River valley is one of 30 nature spots in the world realizes WWF’s priority to preserve.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman Vo Van Mot expressed thanks to the WWF for its help to Dong Nai province during the past time. He hoped that Vinh Cuu nature preservation project will receive special attention of WWF.
