This will continue to contribute to improving the living standards of ethnic minorities, especially for families classified as poor or near-poor, and those living in concentrated ethnic minority areas.

Nguyen Van Khang, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Department, said that Dong Nai currently has 24 communes in region I according to the Prime Minister’s regulations. The province still has 1,750 poor and near-poor households belonging to ethnic minorities. Many families among these have elderly members or individuals receiving social assistance.

In 2025, families and individuals from the ethnic minority communities falling under this category will continue to receive support from old policies and will benefit from many new policies coming into effect in 2025.

In addition to the new policies, Dong Nai will continue to maintain preferential policies for ethnic minorities in 2025. Specifically, Dong Nai has allocated 571 billion VND from various sources to implement 10 projects for the development of ethnic minority areas in the province to address the issues of land shortages for housing and production, drinking water; support for livelihoods in various fields; invest in essential infrastructure; develop education; and provide healthcare for ethnic minorities… This aims to reduce the gap in living standards between regions and among different ethnic groups.
