A total of 13,500 blood units donated in Dong Nai in past four years

(ĐN)- According to the provincial Mobilization Board to donate blood, from 2003 until now, Dong Nai province held many humanitarian blood donation campaigns, collected 13,546 units of blood. The donated blood is used to save lives in surgeries, traumas, cancer treatments and treatment of a wide variety of diseases. Every year sees increasing numbers of participants in the humanitarian blood donation campaign. A total of 487 blood units was collected  in Dong Nai in 2003, 3,088 units in 2004, and 4,290 units in 2005. In the past ten months of 2006, Dong Nai collected 5,681  blood units from blood donation drives. To achieve this result, the organization carried out propaganda work, mobilizing the local people to actively participate in blood donation programs.

The provincial Mobilisation Board sets the target of collecting 6,000 blood units in 2007, meeting 75% of hospitals’ requirements.
