(ĐN)- In the morning of November 1, an scholarship awarding ceremony was held by Department of Education and Training, the provincial Study Encouragement Association and TCL Vietnam Electronics Company with the attendance of Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and other representatives.
This is the second time TCL Vietnam has coordinated with the provincial Study Encouragement Association to grant scholarships to good students and teachers who are living in difficult situations and donate equipment to schools in remote areas in Dong Nai with total of VND100 million. At the ceremony, 11 teachers were granted VND1.2 million each, 44 students received scholarships worth VND500,000 each and 11 primary schools received donations including television and VCD.
General Director of TCL Vietnam said that TCL Study Encouragement Fund was established in 2004 with total of VND 1 billion with aims to grant scholarships to poor teachers and students and donate educational equipment to schools in remote areas. This activity will be implemented for 10 years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot highly praised contributions made by TCL Vietnam to the province’s study encouragement activities. He also asked Department of Education and Training and the provincial Study Encouragement Association to assist TCL Vietnam to help poor schools, teachers and students in Dong Nai.
