Dong Nai receives nearly VND70 bil to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses  

(ĐN) - On March 28, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province organized the launch ceremony for the movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” in Dong Nai province.  

According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, the movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” in Đồng Nai province is of special significance, reflecting the responsibility and ethics of “Repaying kindness”, “Caring for others as oneself”, contributing to providing homes for those who have contributed, the poor, and the disadvantaged.  

Since 2021, the whole province has built and repaired nearly 1,100 charity houses and solidarity houses, contributing to stabilizing housing for poor households, near-poor households, and supporting struggling households to improve their material and spiritual lives.  

According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Võ Tấn Đức, in addition to the achieved results, there are still many families living in temporary, degraded houses that are unsafe, especially during the rainy and stormy season. Based on this reality, Đồng Nai launched the movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” with the highest determination, aiming that by the end of April 2025, no poor households, near-poor households, or policy families will have to live in temporary or dilapidated houses. In conditions where the province cannot allocate 100% from the state budget, the province calls on all levels, sectors, localities, businesses, philanthropists, and the entire society to work together to care for the poor, promoting the spirit of solidarity, sharing food and clothing; those with little contribute little, those with much contribute much, those with resources contribute resources, and those with efforts contribute effort; every contribution, no matter how small, is worth appreciating.  

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province has issued a letter of support for "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses," building solidarity houses in Dong Nai province addressed to all people, officials, civil servants, employees, armed forces, agencies, units, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside Dong Nai province. At the launch ceremony, Dong Nai received nearly 70 billion VND from various individuals and organizations. Among them, Le Nu Thuy Duong, Deputy Chairwoman and General Director of KN Holdings Group, donated 55 billion VND.
